2024Commissioning of new solid fertiliser facility
COMPO is investing in the expansion and comprehensive modernisation of its headquarters in Münster and is constructing a state-of-the-art production facility for organic and organic-mineral solid fertilisers in Europe. With the commissioning of this facility, COMPO is raising its technical and quality standards in production. The new COMPO Advanced Release Technology is giving rise to a new generation of solid fertilisers with an enhanced granule structure and improved product properties.
2022Heinr. Propfe Chem. Fabrik GmbH becomes part of COMPO
COMPO is acquiring 100 per cent of the shares in Heinr. Propfe Chem. Fabrik GmbH. The company has many years’ experience in the field of organic fertilisers. Its incorporation into the COMPO Group forms part of the company’s strategy and expands the product portfolio in the organic fertiliser segment. As part of the integration process, the company will be renamed Propfe GmbH.
2022Integration of Störk GmbH
COMPO is integrating Störk GmbH, which has been producing over 400 products in the areas of peat-free and low-peat soils, mulches and biofilters for more than 20 years. In addition to the development and manufacture of these product categories, regional production is a key component of the integration. The incorporation into the COMPO Group will expand the existing product portfolio in these areas.
2021Collaboration with RETERRA
COMPO and RETERRA, a wholly-owned subsidiary of REMONDIS, have agreed on a long-term partnership for the development and manufacture of raw materials and fertilisers. The collaboration focuses on the development of products based on recycled raw materials, as well as projects in the field of packaging recycling. The aim of the partnership is the joint further development of relevant raw material and product concepts.
2021Commissioning of new liquid fertiliser plant
The new liquid fertiliser plant at the main site in Münster, which was put into operation in 2021, facilitates an ex-panded production range. From now on, organic, organo-mineral and mineral fertilisers can be produced with state-of-the-art equipment.
2021Acquisition by Duke Street
COMPO has been part of Duke Street since 2021. Duke Street has been investing in medium-sized enterprises in western Europe with a focus on the consumer, healthcare, industry and service sectors for more than 25 years.
2018Realignment of the brand
The realignment of the brand, which is clearly directed at the new requirements of retailers and hobby gardeners, took place in 2018: COMPO boasts a modernised brand identity going forward and revolutionises its communication in the process.
2017Site expansion and development of Asian markets
The main site in Münster is expanded by additional grounds of 30,000 m2 to a total of 90,000 m2. In the same year, COMPO opens its first distribution company in Shanghai. COMPO serves the skyrocketing demand for high-quality plant care products in Asia through e-commerce and with its own shop-in-shop system in Beijing.
